This year marks the 33rd Annual Harvest on the Coast, and we can’t wait to make it our most memorable one yet!
The San Luis Obispo Coast AVA is renowned for producing some of California’s finest cool-climate wines. Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and rolling coastal hills, this region enjoys a unique climate where cool marine breezes and fog create ideal growing conditions for vibrant, expressive wines. The cooler temperatures allow the grapes to ripen slowly, resulting in wines with bright acidity, complex flavors, and an elegant balance. Varieties like Pinot Noir and Chardonnay thrive here, showcasing a fresh, mineral-driven profile that highlights the coastal terroir. However, you’ll also find an exciting diversity of cool-climate varietals like Albariño, Grenache, and Riesling, each reflecting the AVA’s distinct maritime influence. This year’s Harvest on the Coast is the perfect opportunity to experience these beautifully crafted wines, all grown right here along the SLO Coast.
The Harvest on the Coast kicks off with the Grand Tasting on Saturday, November 2, at 2 PM at the picturesque Thousand Hills Ranch in Pismo Beach. Here, you’ll have the chance to sample an incredible selection of wines, all cultivated in the SLO Coast AVA.
GRAND TASTING with Gold Land BBQ Pairings and Live Music by Carbon City Lights – $125/PP, 2 PM – 5 PM
Starting at 2 PM, the Grand Tasting will showcase an incredible selection of wines from the SLO Coast AVA. While Pinot Noir and Chardonnay will be highlights, expect an exciting array of varietals like Albariño, Grenache, Tempranillo, Syrah, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and even some surprises we’ll reveal soon. Each wine will be expertly paired with mouthwatering Santa Maria-style BBQ from Goldland BBQ. As you savor these delicious wines and pairings, the sounds of local indie and alternative rock band Carbon City Lights will fill the air, creating the perfect backdrop for a beautiful afternoon of wine, food, and fun on the coast.
Sparkling Wine Lounge with Stepladder Creamery – 1 PM – 2 PM
For those looking to start the celebration early, our Sparkling Wine Lounge opens at 1 PM. This exclusive add-on experience features a selection of sparkling wines crafted by SLO Coast Vintners, paired with artisanal cheeses from Stepladder Creamery. Enjoy this relaxing prelude on the lawn before diving into the Grand Tasting. Please note, the Sparkling Wine Lounge can only be accessed by those purchasing tickets to the Grand Tasting.
